What was the motivating factor for your spectacular transformation?

I have been interested in Body-for-LIFE since 1999 and in 2000 I completed one or two 12-week challenges and then went on to complete another BFL Challenge over the years; however, there were a lot of Challenges I started but did not finish and I have tons of “before” pictures to prove all the times I tried another Challenge & then didn’t complete those Challenges.

Then in February 2004, I attended the Ultimate Transformation Camp (3) hosted by EAS in Golden, CO. I walked away from that Camp with a New Commitment/Self-Promise that I was no longer going to “let myself down” and I was finally going to get healthy physically & mentally!!!

After 20 months and completing seven (7) consecutive BFL Challenges and working on myself both physically and mentally, I have attained my fitness goals and feel I’m so much healthier both physically and mentally. I now have the opportunity to view life in a Positive Way and see Opportunities & Possibilities in Life in which I never used to view my life in such a positive way.

I have also accomplished a goal I had set for myself and on October 1st, 2005, I “stepped out of my comfort zone” and competed in my first Figure Competition! I have also set a new goal for myself to compete in my 2nd Figure Competition on November 12, 2005.

What program did I follow & what was the most difficult component?

I followed the Body-for-LIFE program & submitted my 7 packets for the 12-week Body-for-LIFE Challenges. The most difficult component for me was: “To get out of my own way & to Truly Believe That I Deserve the Best In Life.”

At what point did you realize you could transform your body?

During the Ultimate Transformation Camp (3) when I walked away with the Drive, Determination and the Knowingness that I deserved better for myself in my life. And even though I’ve stumbled along the way, I never gave up hope on myself and when I fell down…I picked myself back up over and over again and I am now in the best shape of my life!

What is your favorite resistance/weight-lifting move?

Lateral raises – for some reason I really enjoy doing the lateral raises and the concentration curls. Also….Lunges, squats, leg curls & leg extensions because even though these workouts “kick my butt’ (pun intended – ha) and since this is one of my “problem areas” ….I have now seen very positive changes from doing my leg workouts!

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite “healthy” meals are: Salmon & Asparagus and for breakfast my favorite “healthy” meal is: Oatmeal with the choc. protein powder supplement & cinnamon.

My favorite “not-so-healthy” meals are: Steak; sometimes waffle fries; and the 94% FF Orville Redenbacher’s Kettle Korn; and Davanni’s Veggie Hot Hoagies.

Favorite Supplement?

Tropical & Chocolate Myoplex Lite meal replacements.

Long Range Goals?

I now have a passion for helping others with their health & fitness and “I take a ‘Stand’ for Health & Well-Being.” It is my goal to help as many people as I can become healthy & fit so they are PROUD of their bodies and PROUD of themselves. After 40 years, I can now say I am PROUD OF WHO I AM both physically and mentally – YEAH – and I also take on the new attitude that I plan on being “UNSTOPPABLE”!!!

There’s one thing I want people “To Really Get” – they CAN DO whatever they choose to do…it’s just a matter of “making the decision and to ‘JUST DO IT’.”

Also…when I first started Cindy’s Self-Discovery Journey, I did not believe in myself and I needed to depend on others to believe in me before I believed in myself. Now, I believe in myself so I in turn can believe in others before they believe in themselves, and then once they believe in themselves, they can believe in others and so on and so on….Please know that whatever you need to do to reach that point in your life – JUST DO IT!
